Eligibility

  • Participants must be students from the member institutions of UKSAEI
  • Team should have 4-6 members comprising both UK and Singapore students from at least three different institutions. (Form the team after registration through the platform.)
  • The idea must be related to one of the 3 kep focus areas of gerontology:
    1. Healthcare & Wellness: How might we leverage technology or community initiatives to improve preventative healthcare and chronic disease management for older adults, ensuring timely access to care and personalised support?
    2. Active Ageing & Social Engagement: How might we design solutions that encourage social participation, mental stimulation, and physical activity among older adults to promote healthy and active ageing?
    3. Independent Living & Daily Assistance: How might we create tools or services that support older adults in maintaining independence at home, from mobility and safety to everyday tasks and smart home integration?

Project and Submission Requirements

  • Pitch deck should be submitted through Devpost "My projects" before the deadline

Prizes

  • All participants will receive an e-Certificate of Completion upon completion of the hackathon
  • The top 3 teams' projects will be submitted to the Pitch for Good 2026. (The shortlisted project teams in the Pitch for Good will be sponsored to attend the Grand Finals in Singapore to pitch their ideas).
  • For the top team, UK students will receive a sponsored trip (airfare, accommodation, and programme fees, capped at S$2,000 per pax) from the UK Science & Technology Network to join the SUSS Global Impact Startup Challenge 2026 in Singapore. For Singapore students, participation in the programme will be free.
